The Maine Chapter of the International Appalachian Trail (Maine IAT) seeks a Coordinator for specific administrative services.

The Maine IAT was established in 1994 to create a footpath connecting the highest points in Maine, New Brunswick, and the Gaspé region of Quebec. The trail has since grown to include all of the Maritime Provinces of Canada and 11 other countries that rim the North Atlantic from Maine to Morocco.

The Coordinator will provide a range of services to the Maine IAT, including: organizing and maintaining files, maintaining the Maine and international portal websites (WordPress) for all chapters in the network, developing and maintaining a quarterly electronic newsletter and a plan for regular communication through social media, maintaining membership records, helping to coordinate annual fundraising activities, and helping to organize the Maine IAT annual meeting and other events.

The successful applicant will have an independent office or work space with computer, internet service, phone and file storage; educational and/or work experiences that support proficiency in the use of office software for word processing, data management, website management, and financial management; and possess strong communication and workplace skills. The Contractor will work closely with the Executive Committee of the Maine IAT Board of Directors, and thus will work closely with a team of people with a wide range of experiences and approaches to addressing issues and opportunities. The Coordinator will report directly to the President of the Board of Directors.

An average of 20 hours/month is estimated to complete the contracted services, with more hours expected in November, December, January, April and May then during other times of the year. Hourly compensation will be commensurate with skills and experience.

Applicants interested in this Contract should send a cover letter and resumes to Don Hudson by Friday, February 7th. A draft contract agreement is available for interested applicants. Finalists will be asked to provide educational and/or work references.
