We’re Getting the Band Back Together!

After two years of virtual gatherings, the Maine Chapter of the International Appalachian Trail will hold its 28th Annual Meeting live and in-person at Mount Chase Lodge, on the shores of Upper Shin Pond on May 6-8, 2022.

We have some great talks lined-up on the latest research in Climate Change. These include Ivan Fernandez, Co-chair of Maine’s Climate Council who will discuss the role of Maine’s northern forests in sequestering carbon and Maine IAT Board Member and Professor of Geology, Julia Daly, who will review the results of a continent-wide study of climate impacts on high elevation ponds.  You can download the Full Meeting Agenda here.

This year’s gathering will also include outdoor activities for children, a of choice of hikes and even a chance to help with some IAT trail and lean-to maintenance. All this along with some great meals from the kitchen of Mount Chase Lodge

Space is limited at Mount Chase Lodge so we’ll be reserving cabins and suites at the lodge on a first-come, first-serve basis. If you’d like to stay at Mount Chase, click here and we’ll let you know what’s available.

Those planning to stay in a cabin, tent or RV site at Shin Pond Village should contact them by calling 207-528-2900 or visiting www.shinpond.com.
